If you want to do do research in Zanzibar, we can help you from organising a research permission to finding research assistant and provide accommodation for you.
Application procedure
To apply, please prepare your CV, research proposal (statement of objectives if not available), recent passport size photo and recommendation letter sent to us through email: info@visionsynergies.com. The reccommendation letter must be in letter head, signed by your supervisor (if student) or an institution's authorised official (if not student). For independents, you will need to write an application letter to state you aim. The reference/application letter shall be addressed to: Principal Secretary, Office of the Second Vice President, Zanzibar.
Once we receive these documents, we will write an official application that will be submitted along with your documents. If the VPO2 gives a go ahead, we will send you the application form, which you will fill in, print and scan before returning to us in electronic form, together with an electronic version of recent passport size photo. We will send these documents and wait for the final approval. We will send you a copy of the permit once issued.
Cost
An application fee for research that last less than three months is USD 75. For the research that last more than three months, the application fee is USD 150. In addition you will be required to pay USD 200 as our comission for organising your application and your work and stay in Zanzibar. This cost does not include your transport, research assistant or any of your private expenses. A shared accommodation (sharing with foreign students) cost USD 15 a day. If you want a private accommodation we can organise for you and the cost will be determined at the time of application.
Application fee for promotional/commercial filming is USD 500, and we charge USD 300 as our comission.
